Giving you raw and street savvy lyricism, accompanied with a raspy New Orleans accent, Allie has developed a sound that is uniquely her own. From her impeccable writing skills, to that commanding voice so unexpected from the pint size beauty, she lets it be known she is here to stay for a while. Raised in the Crescent City, which birthed some of Hip-Hop's most influential artist and legendary music empires (Master P, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, No limit, Cash Money Records), in addition to New Orleans' strong association with Jazz, Allie inherited the musical creativity and influence her city is known for. Diverse yet cohesive, she successfully integrates various genres into her own sound covering all bases.
Before embarking on a solo career, Allie was fortunate to be a member of two groups. Blak Iyce, a female group molded under the direction of Dj Wild Wayne. "It was a great learning experience." recalls Allie. "We got a chance to open up for G- Unit, the 504 Boyz, and travel on a tour bus to see what life on the road was like." "We opened up in about 20 cities and sometimes only had a couple hours of sleep, but none of that discouraged me." "It made me work harder." Allie was also a member of Gs Up, a group founded by Atlanta rapper Lil Scrappy, both opportunities that would allow the road to greatness to begin. She would continue to open up for B2K, Camron, Nas, and other mainstream acts. While recording in a Memphis studio, she had a chance encounter with producer Drumma Boy, the same producer who would go on to make hits for artists such as Kanye West, TI, and Young Jeezy. At the time, he was still up and coming. He dropped off some of his work and Allie listened to the tracks. She became hooked to his signature synthesized laced sound. They kept in touch over the years. From the first studio session together, the pair had deniable chemistry. Drumma Boy would go on to produce Allie’s breakout single “Yay” which created a heavy buzz online.
Her musical presence was so well-recieved that fake web pages were created in her name, as well as Allie Baby impersonators corresponding with her newly established fan base. While she was disturbed by strangers claiming her likeness , she also understood the adage that imitation is the best form of flattery and began to embrace her immediate fame.
While making something of her budding rap career, she tapped into acting. Working with independent film company, Most Wanted Films, Allie landed roles in the movies “Da Block Party” and “Black Saturday” in 2003. In 2005, she personally funded and released “Pre Season,” a mix tape hosted by Dj Drama and the Aphilliates. On the heels of what was one of the nation’s most devastating natural disasters, Allie spoke candidly of the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and other topics relevant at the time. “Music says what the heart can’t express." "It’s therapeutic.”
In 2010, Allie dropped another mix tape, “Study Hall,” and landed a role in the short film “Keeper of the Flame.” She was also nominated for “Best Female Artist” in the 2010 NOLA Underground Hip Hop Awards. The year 2011 would shape up real nice for the lyrical southern belle. She released “12:47,” a mix tape hosted by DJ Smallz featuring some hip hop heavy hitters, collaborating with legendary 8 Ball. The same legend she would bring as a surprise performer with her at the 2011 NOLA Underground Hip Hop Awards. She was nominated again and won “Best Female Artist.” As a seasoned performing rap artist, no wonder she would land the perfect role in the feature film “Must Be the Music”, directed by famous actor Charles Duton , starring Clifton Powell, Tasha Smith, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, Black Thought, Jada Kiss, and former Atlanta Housewife star Lisa Wu Hartwell. This film will hit theaters in 2013. Allie was also nominated for the “Slept On Artist of the Year” award at the 2012 SEA Awards.
