Project Pat (born Patrick Houston on February 8, 1973) is one of the Memphis rappers that has been an associated act of Memphis rap group Three 6 Mafia of Hypnotize Minds since the beginning of the 90's. Project Pat is the older brother of Juicy J (born Jordan Michael Houston), both from North Memphis. Project Pat's debut studio album Ghetty Green, released on September 14, 1999 on Hypnotize Minds / Loud Records, was the beginning of his now legendary status in Southern hip-hop.
Though Ghetty Green was the beginning, Project Pat's first notable mainstream presence was on the hook for Three 6 Mafia's hit single "Sippin' on Some Syrup" in 2000.
In the beginning of 2001, Project Pat followed up with his second studio album "Mista Don't Play: Everythangs Workin'" on February 27, 2001, which became the most successful album ever for an independent artist on the Hypnotize Minds label selling over 900,000 copies making it certified platinum. The success of the album was thanks largely in part to the hit song like "Chickenhead" featuring La Chat & Three 6 Mafia, which became a Dirty South anthem at the time. "Mista Don't Play" also featured the hit single "Don't Save Her" featuring Crunchy Black & Three 6 Mafia.
Project Pat's mass success was halted only due to incarceration, but it did not stop the rapper as he released his third album "Layin' Da Smack Down" in August 2, 2002 during his incarceration, then 4 years later followed with "Crook by da Book: The Fed Story" on December 5, 2006, which featured singles "Good Googly Moogly" featuring DJ Paul and Juicy J from Three 6 Mafia and "Raised in the Projects."
On August 21, 2007 Project Pat mixed album "What Cha Starin At?" dropped, followed by his studio album "Walkin' Bank Roll" on October 30, 2007, featuring the lead single "Don't Call Me No Mo'" featuring Three 6 Mafia.
Pat's seventh studio album "Real Recognize Real" was released on February 24, 2009 followed by the eighth studio album by the Memphis rapper entitled "Loud Pack" on July 19, 2011.
Project Pat released multiple mixtapes during his studio releases including notable mixtapes "Play Me Some Pimpin" (with Juicy J) and "Play Me Some Pimpin 2" both in 2009, "Belly On Full" (2012) and his mixtape "Cheez N Dope" on January 9, 2013.
